New Blog for thebestdamngolfsiteperiod.com

I have been thinking about writing a golf blog for a long time and have finally gotten around to sitting down and doing something about it.

What am I hoping to accomplish with this blog?  I am not 100% sure.  I am hoping to blog about the golf I watch on tv, the golf I play, some tips or swing thoughts that might work.  There might also be some equipment reviews (by my friends because the contents of my bag are pretty static) or book reviews, and also some course reviews.  I will also try to share any good deals I hear about.

A little bit about me.  I have been golfing since I was 8, my handicap is currently roughly 5, but I have been as low as a 2 at two points in my golfing career. The first time was in 1995 when I was golfing every day, and the second time was in 2005 when I was playing almost every day. Now I play about once every couple of weeks in the spring, fall and summer of Canada. My rounds usually consist of trying to find my swing for the first nine holes or so.

DSCF2352A little over a month ago I achieved a dream and got to go to Augusta National for a practice round at the 2014 Masters.  Everyone in the world should get to spend a day walking around Augusta National.  I hope it was just the first of many trips to the Masters. I will probably discuss this in more detail in a future blog post.

DSCF2253The trip to Augusta took place during a weeklong trip to Hiltonhead S.C.  We played at Palmetto Dunes Resort. The resort had three good courses, the best of which I think was the Robert Trent Jones, Jr. course. There will likely be a blog about that in the future too.

Ok, I think that’s all I have for now.  I think I am going to watch the LPGA Kingsmill Championship on the Golf Channel.

PS. I know the site is pretty out of date as far as looks go, but I am going to be trying to upgrade it. It will probably take awhile, so please be patient.

Thanks
