Yuka Saso Wins U.S. Women’s Open

Yuka Saso shot a final-round 68 to finish at 4-under overall, to win the U.S. Women’s Open by three shots over Hinako Shibuno. The third round leaders, Wichanee Meechai and Minjee Lee each struggled, allowing Saso to come from behind to win.

Nelly Korda Wins Mizuho Americas Open

Nelly Korda finished at 14-under par to win the Mizuho Americas Open by one shot over Hannah Green, at the Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey. Korda and Green went shot for shot until the final hole, where Green found trouble and bogeyed the final hole to miss forcing a playoff.  The victory is Korda’s sixth of the LPGA season, in only eight starts. She has won six of her last 7 tournaments played.

Rose Zhang Wins Founders Cup

[Editors Note: Sorry the recap is a week late, I just realized this morning that I had completely forgotten to to the write-up for Founders Cup]

Rose Zhang won the Cognizant Founders Cup by two-shots over Madelene Sagstrom, in what was essentially a two-person tournament (Gabriela Ruffels finished in third place, a full 13 strokes behind Sagstrom). Zhang finished the tournament at 24-under par, after a final round 6-under 66, to capture her second career title on the LPGA Tour.

Nelly Korda Wins Fourth Straight Tournament with Win at T-Mobile Match Play

Nelly Korda defeated Leona Maguire 4&3 in the finals to win the T-Mobile Match Play, at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas. The win is Korda’s fourth win in her last four tournaments. She defeated Narin An 4&3 in the semi-finals and Angel Yin 3&2 in the quarters.

The event had 3 rounds of stroke play, with the top-8 advancing to the “knockout” round of match play (four players were tied for 8th place in the stroke play portion, with Moriya Jutanugarn winning a playoff for the final spot in the knockout rounds).
