Grayson Murray and Kevin Na Are Having A Twitter Feud

https://www.golfchannel.com/news/grayson-murray-fires-shot-kevin-na-na-claps-back

Notoriously slow player, Kevin Na, and Grayson Murray, typically a field-filler on the PGA Tour, are trading insults on Twitter like a couple of juveniles.

These two are supposed to be professionals, I am embarrassed for both of them.

2022 LPGA Golf Pool

It has been 10 years since the last golf pool on thebestdamngolfsiteperiod.com.  That is when the PGA Tour changed to a wrap-around season so there was only 1 or 2 weeks between the end of one season and the beginning of the next.  That is not enough time to get a new pool set up.

After years of contemplating doing an LPGA version of the pool, 2022 will be the year.

It is very similar to the old golf pool.  You pick a set of players for the season, and they get points when they finish in the top-10 of LPGA Tour events.  Whoever collects the most points over the course of the season is the winner.

After each tournament the pool leaderboard will be updated, and a blog post will be written to summarize the week.  To receive e-mail notification of the update, please subscribe to the blog. You can also follow @tbestdgolfsite on twitter to get updates.

This year there is no fee to enter, but please consider making a donation to All Paws Rescue Services instead. All Paws Rescue Services is a non-profit animal rescue that is all volunteer.

As of now there are no prizes, but I am working on getting something for the top finishers.

The LPGA Tour season starts January 20th, 2022, so get your entries in before then.

2020 Ryder Cup Team Comparison

The 2020 Ryder Cup will finally get played starting Sept 24, 2021, and so it’s time to compare the teams based on our Power Rankings to see which is most on-form coming into the competition.

Just about every time they play, Team USA is the stronger team on paper but somehow Team Europe ends up coming away with the victory.  This year both teams are full of great players, but based on the current Power Rankings, Team USA should take the cup with ease*.

EUROPEUSA
Jon Rahm 15.38 (6)Patrick Cantlay 18.13 (1)

Joaquin Niemann Plays Final Round in 1h 53m at Tour Championship

Joaquin Niemann literally raced around the course for the final round at the Tour Championship.  Playing as a single, Niemann and his caddie, as well as the standard bearers, ran from shot to shot, green to tee, and everywhere in between to play the final round in under two hours.  In case you are wondering, he shot a 72.

Why is 4.5 hours considered a quick round?

Based on current form, it should be a pretty close match but I would expect the Americans to be the victors in the end.

Cantlay Bests DeChambeau in Epic Playoff at BMW

This was of the more exciting finishes that I have seen recently as Patrick Cantlay and Bryson DeChambeau battled all day, and then into a 6-hole playoff at the BMW Championship.  As they say, drive for show and putt for dough, and that was proven again as Cantlay won despite being regularly outdriven by 40 yards by Bryson.

Here are the highlights from the PGA Tour’s Youtube Channel.

Collin Morikawa won the 149th Open Championship at Royal St George’s, but if you’re like me you missed a significant part of the final round coverage because early Sunday afternoon is a time when certain things around the house have to get done.  If that’s you, then I have just what you need, The Open’s Youtube channel’s video of the final round highlights.

Kramer Hickok Finishes Second at the Travelers

Kramer Hickok finished runnerup at the Travellers Championship, losing to Harris English after a eight-hole playoff. English finally made a birdie, the first in the playoff, to win for the 4th time.

The playoff went on so long that they had to sub in the standard bearer for the group after the 5th playoff hold, because the poor guy was exhausted from going back and forth between the 18th and 17th holes.

Kramer made me think of his namesake, Seinfeld’s Kramer, so I found this video of clips from a classic episode of Seinfend on Youtube.
