Nelly Korda won the LPGAs first major championship of 2024, and her fifth straight tournament win, at the Chevron Championship in Texas. Korda finished at 13-under, two shots ahead of Maja Stark.
Nelly Korda Wins Fourth Straight Tournament with Win at T-Mobile Match Play
Nelly Korda defeated Leona Maguire 4&3 in the finals to win the T-Mobile Match Play, at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas. The win is Korda’s fourth win in her last four tournaments. She defeated Narin An 4&3 in the semi-finals and Angel Yin 3&2 in the quarters.
The event had 3 rounds of stroke play, with the top-8 advancing to the “knockout” round of match play (four players were tied for 8th place in the stroke play portion, with Moriya Jutanugarn winning a playoff for the final spot in the knockout rounds).
Nelly Korda Wins Ford Championship for Third Consecutive Victory
Nelly Korda shot a final round 65, to finish at 20-under, and win the Ford Championship by two-shorts over Hira Naveed. The win is Korda’s 11th LPGA title overall, and her third win in her last three starts.
Nelly Korda Wins Fir Hills SeRi Pak Championship
Nelly Korda won her 10th career LPGA title in a playoff over Ryann O’Toole at the Fir Hills SeRi Pak Championships in LA. Korda has now won back-to-back starts, and the win moves her to No.1 in the Rolex Rankings.
Both Korda and O’Toole finished the tournament at 9-under par.
Bailey Tardy Wins Blue Bay LPGA
Bailey Tardy had six birdies and an eagle on her way to a final round 65 and a four-shot victory over Sarah Schmelzel at the Blue Bay LPGA. Tary finished at 19-under par, and the win is her first on the LPGA Tour.
Hannah Green Wins HSBC Women’s World Championship
Hannah Green birdied the final three holes, the last one with a 27-foot putt, to win the HSBC Women’s World Championship by a shot over Celine Boutier.
Patty Tavatanakit Wins Honda LPGA Thailand
Patty Tavatanakit shot a 5-under 67 to finish at 21-under par and win the Honda LPGA Thailand by a shot over Albane Valenzuela. Valenzuela had seven birdies and an eagle to shoot a final round of 9-under 63 to temporarily tie for the lead, but Tavatanakit birdied the final hole to clinch the victory.
Nelly Korda Wins LPGA Drive On Championship in Playoff
Nelly Korda eagled the 17th and birded the 18th holes to get into a playoff with Lydia Ko, where she won on the second playoff hole to deny Ko entry to the LPGA Hall of Fame (Ko is one victory away from qualifying for the Hall). Korda and Ko finished at 11-under par, three shots clear of third place. The win is Korda’s ninth career win on the LPGA tour.
